The hybrid was bred not so long ago by domestic breeders and has spread throughout the vast territory of Russia. The variety was recognized by domestic gardeners due to its unpretentiousness, high yield and the ability to use these tomatoes in various ways - to prepare salads, make juice, ketchups and preserve.
Description
Gardeners know that before planting and growing new varieties, it is worth learning as much as possible about it - see reviews, listen to the opinions of specialists, read the impressions published on the Internet of those who have already planted this culture. And, of course, you need to at least in general terms know the characteristics. Here are the most basic ones.
Bush:
- It grows and develops in any climate, suitable for cultivation in any region, but it is recommended to plant only in closed rooms - heated greenhouses, or simply under a film in greenhouses.
- Supersteak is mid-season tomatoes. Fruit ripening ends about 3.5 months after the seeds have been planted in the ground. You can remove tomatoes from the bush after 100-105 days.
- Plants grow on average 1.5-1.6 meters, although many summer residents say that sometimes the height of the bush reaches 2 meters.
- Up to 8 brushes can form on a bush.
Fruit:
- The fruits are quite large, the average weight is 450-500 grams, there are frequent cases when the berry weighed in the region of a kilogram.
- The berry is full-bodied, there are no voids, the pulp is dense.
- The color is dark red.
- The skin is thick, smooth, without roughness.
Seedling method of growing
- Superstake is grown by seedling, seeds are planted in early March. They must first be processed in a weak pink solution of potassium permanganate or aloe, then washed with running water and dried.
- It is recommended to bury in the ground at 2-2.5 centimeters, the maximum can be buried at 3.
- As soon as the second leaf is formed, the seedlings can be dived, that is, planted in different containers.
- While seedlings are growing and gaining strength, they feed it 2-3 times. For feeding, a complex of nitrogen-phosphate fertilizers is usually used, designed specifically for this.
- A week and a half before planting seedlings in a suburban area, it must be hardened. To do this, the sprouts are daily taken to the balcony, first for several minutes, then the time increases, and every day it becomes more and more. After all, in the last days of seedlings can be outdoors all day. This is done so that the culture gets used to the climate in which it will grow, and adapts to natural conditions.
- Seedlings are planted in April or May, when the heat comes - depending on the climatic conditions of the region. On average, seedlings should be no less than 2 months old, or rather, they should be 90-95 days.
- Planting is necessary so that around the bushes there is enough space for further growth and development, and they do not interfere with each other. It is enough to have 6 plants per square meter. Since the variety is determinant and constantly growing, you need to pinch off the upper shoots, not allowing the bush to grow. It is also worth trimming the bottom leaves.
- It is better to limit the brush, leaving a maximum of 8 ovaries on it.
Care
- Watering tomatoes is recommended 3-4 times a week. For watering, it is better to use warm water, settled in barrels on the street.
- After watering is done, the earth must be loosened, otherwise the surface will dry out and turn into a hard crust that does not allow air to pass through.
- You need to feed the plant 2 or 3 times using mineral fertilizers.
